Quick Start

Get up and running with EmberBoard in 60 seconds.

5-Minute Storyboard

1. Create Beats (10 seconds)

• Double-click in Node View → Creates a beat
• Alt + Drag beat → Duplicates it
• Repeat until you have 5-10 beats

2. Add Images (2 minutes)

• Drag images from your computer
• Drop onto each beat
• Or use Browse button in Properties Panel

3. Write Script (2 minutes)

• Click a beat to select it
• Type in the Script field (Properties Panel)
• Add scene headings: INT. COFFEE SHOP - DAY
• Move to next beat and repeat

4. Preview (30 seconds)

• Press Spacebar to play
• Watch your storyboard come to life!
• Adjust timing with + / - buttons

5. Save (10 seconds)

• File menu → Save Project
• Downloads .emberboard file
• You're done!

Common First Tasks

Import Existing Images

Already have storyboard frames?

1. Select multiple images on your computer
2. Drag them all into EmberBoard at once
3. EmberBoard creates a beat for each image automatically
4. Arrange them in order on the timeline

Start with Script

Prefer to write first?

1. Create beats for each scene
2. Name them in Properties Panel
3. Write script in each beat
4. Add images later

Duplicate for Variations

Testing different approaches?

1. Create your first beat
2. Alt + Drag to duplicate
3. Try different images in each version
4. Double-click to move unused ones to shelf
